The Committee on Civil Rights is active with respect to the
rights of LGBT people. The Committee authored a letter to
President Michael E. Getnick in support of the Special Committee on LGBT
People and the Law's Report and Recommendations on Marriage Rights for
Same-Sex Couples. See below for the Committee's letter and related

The Committee on Civil Rights also cosponsored a panel with the
Special Committee on LGBT People and the Law at the NYSBA's 2010 Annual
Event titled Core Rights Implicated by Second-Tier Status of Same-Sex
