Committee members Paul J. Novak of Lynbrook and Mark
I. Masini of Syosset look on as the 747 used in the May 21 disaster
preparedness drill at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens
makes its way to the staging area. Novak, Masini and Committee Chair
Robert J. Saltzman of Valley Stream represented the Committee at the
exercise. Last summer, the MDR Committee was added to the Port of New
York Authority's automatic disaster response system, a distinction that
gives the group near immediate on-site access to disasters that occur on
PONYA property.
