NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES
NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
ALBANY-Seven attorneys have been elected to the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association.
The 30-member Executive Committee oversees the management and administration of the State Bar within policies determined by its governing body, the House of Delegates.
The new Executive Committee members are:
James B. Ayers of Albany, Section Representative. A graduate of Colgate University and Cornell Law School, Ayers is a partner of Whiteman Osterman & Hanna and chair of its estate planning and administration practice group.
James R. Barnes of Albany, Young Lawyers Section Representative. A graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton and Wake Forest University School of Law, Barnes, a shareholder at Burke & Casserly, concentrates his practice in elder law, trusts and estates, business succession planning and real estate.
David Louis Cohen of Kew Gardens, Member-at-Large. A graduate of New York University and Brooklyn Law School, Cohen is a solo practitioner and concentrates his practice in state and federal litigation. He also is counsel to the New York State Assembly Codes Committee.
Cheryl Smith Fisher of Buffalo, Vice-President of the 8th Judicial District. A graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego and the University at Buffalo Law School, Fisher is a partner of Magavern, Magavern & Grimm. She practices in the areas of employment law, commercial litigation, bankruptcy and professional responsibility.
Evan M. Goldberg of New Rochelle, Member-at-Large. A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and Brooklyn Law School, Goldberg is a partner and senior trial attorney at Trolman, Glaser & Lichtman. He practices in all areas of plaintiff's personal injury law, including medical malpractice, products liability and general negligence.
Ira S. Goldenberg of White Plains, Section Representative. A graduate of Brandeis University and George Washington University Law Center, Goldenberg is a partner at Goldenberg & Selker. He represents boards of condominiums, homeowners associations and cooperatives, as well as developers, unit owners, sellers and purchasers.
Scott M. Karson of Melville, Vice-President of the 10th Judicial District. A graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Syracuse University College of Law, Karson is a partner of Lamb & Barnosky. He concentrates his practice on trial and appellate litigation, as well as municipal, civil rights, commercial, real property, personal injury and criminal litigation.
Their terms began on June 1.
The 76,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
