State Bar's Committees on Lawyers in Transition and Law Practice Management Team Up to Offer Career Development Webinar

To better serve small firm and solo practitioners who have been impacted by the current economic climate and who are struggling to effectively market their businesses, the New York State Bar Association Lawyers in Transition and Law Practice Management committees will offer a free webinar that will provide tips on how to retain and grow relationships, attract new business, increase name recognition and pursue targeted and effective communications strategies. The program will take place on Tuesday, September 29th from 12 to 1 p.m. and will be available to any lawyer who pre-registers at

"To keep their businesses afloat in this tough economy, many solo practitioners and lawyers practicing in small firms have been forced to significantly cut back their marketing efforts and, in some cases, have abandoned them altogether," said President Michael E. Spearheaded by Lauren J. Wachtler (Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP), chair of the State Bar's Committee on Lawyers in Transition, the webinar is part of an overall program to assist attorneys who need a helping hand in reentering the job market and maintaining their businesses in a down economy. The committee supports lawyers who are currently unemployed, looking to make a career change, leaving a current job or transitioning back into the workforce after time away from the legal profession.
