About the Committee for Bar Leaders of New York State
The Committee for Bar Leaders of New York State is first and foremost an organization for bar leaders dedicated to providing a forum for the exchange of information and ideas. 

The Committee works to advance the objectives of the organized bar, encourages communication and collaboration among bar associations, promotes leadership development for present and future bar leaders, hosts workshops and programs that provide educational opportunities and foster networking.

THE 2016 BAR LEADER INNOVATION AWARDS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The New York State Bar Association’s Committee for Bar Leaders of New York State is pleased to open nominations for the 2016 Bar Leaders Innovation Awards for local, diverse, special purpose and specialty bar associations in New York State, as well as for the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. These awards recognize how bar associations adapt to the needs of their members and the community at large by introducing new programs, ideas and methodologies that benefit everyone involved. Every bar association is encouraged to participate. Every new idea put into effect, no matter how small it may seem, is welcome for consideration. The awards program also provides information to bar leaders concerning new activities and projects that promote the public good, public understanding of the law or the professional responsibilities of attorneys. The 2016 awards will be presented at the Annual Breakfast for Bar Leaders held at the New York Hilton Midtown on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 7:30 a.m.

Katzmann of the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals hosted a program and reception for bar leaders, bar association members and members of the judiciary at the Thurgood Marshall U.S. Courthouse on December 2 of 2016

Enhance Your Bar Association’s Online Presence Webex
On Thursday, October 6th a WebEx session on how to start up or enhance your bar association’s presence online was held. Brandon Vogel, Social Media & Web Content Manager for the New York State Bar Association, reviewed the fundamentals of creating a basic web page and provided tips on enhancing your current online presence.  The Program looked at various social media platforms used by bar associations, including Twitter and Instagram.

The Committee for Bar Leaders of New York State recently hosted an “Open House” for all bar association leaders and directors. In addition to networking, NYSBA staff were on hand with resource information for bar group on:
