Barry Skidelsky is the new chair of the State Bar’s Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section.
A former radio broadcaster and Berklee-trained jazz pianist, Skidelsky is an attorney and consultant with a broad private practice based in Manhattan, providing legal representation, counsel and additional diverse services, primarily to individuals and entities who are directly or indirectly involved with entertainment, media, telecommunications and technology, including matters before the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C.
Skidelsky has also served as general counsel for several venture-capital-backed and privately held companies, as well as for a publicly traded digital media company, and as a bankruptcy trustee, FCC ownership divestiture trustee, broker, mediator and arbitrator.
A frequent author, speaker and CLE-event organizer, who also speaks Spanish, Skidelsky is a graduate of the University of Vermont and Vermont Law School.
