The Effects That The Shifting Sands Of Federal Education Policy Will Have On Public Education

Much has been reported on the Trump Administration’s policy goals for public education and the enforcement of civil rights in public schools from transgender and undocumented rights, to school discipline and disability discrimination.  What has changed?  What remains the same?  Find out how the new changes have affected the operation of school districts.  The seminar will conclude with the ever popular “Skating Tour” of recent laws and regulations, as well as a review of court and administrative decisions affecting public schools.

The interactive session will cover matters of interest to lawyers whose practice involves school law, as well as to educators.  Topics will include a review of this past year’s laws and regulations and court decisions affecting the operation of public schools and a review of the direction in which federal education and policy is headed.

The 2018 Edition of “Public Education and the Law” will be provided to each participant.

      Special pricing for educators!

More details will be available soon!

    Mock Trial Summer Institute

The Mock Trial Summer Institute (MTSI) was established in 2005 to strengthen students' and teams' understanding of Mock Trial and its applications. Students are selected through an application process to attend this week-long, intensive camp-like experience. Under the direction of counselors, who are Mock Trial teacher-coaches and experienced attorneys, the students study all aspects of Mock Trial and apply their studies to the presentation of a Mock Trial case on the final day of MTSI. The fee is $250.00 for students who reside/attend school in New York State and $1,000.00 for students who reside/attend school out of state.  Click here for more details about MTSI.
