Mindy H. Stern
CHAIR, Real Property Law Section
Mindy H. Stern of New York City is the new chair
of the Real Property Section.
A partner at Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP,
she represents public institutions, private
companies and not-for-profit organizations in the sale, purchase, leasing and
financing of commercial real estate. She concentrates her private client practice
on high net worth individuals in the sale and purchase of residential property,
and estate planning and estate administration.
Stern chairs the section’s
task force creating a scholarship fund in memory of State Bar former president,
Lorraine Power Tharp, who died in 2008, and is a former co-chair of the section’s
Committee on Not-for-Profit Entities and Concerns.
Stern is a member of the
American College of Real Estate Lawyers, was an adjunct professor at Benjamin
N. Cardozo School of Law between 2007 and 2014, and is a former chair of the Real Property Law
Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
She has lectured for the
State Bar, Practising Law Institute, Schack Institute of Real Estate New York
University and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Stern received her undergraduate
degree from Lafayette College and her law degree from Rutgers Law School.
