Criminal Justice Section Spring Meeting Continuing Legal Education Program, Saturday May 3, 2014This program will address three areas in which the law of evidence in criminal cases has recently experienced a sea change. Appellate courts now recognize that evidence establishing a defendant's identity may be subject to suppression or challenge under the Confrontation Clause. In addition, in particular in domestic violence and sexual assault cases, they have described when hearsay may be admitted or challenged on Confrontation grounds. The program will also cover the Right to Present a Defense.
This program will provide 4.5 MCLE credits in the area of professional practice and has been approved for all attorneys including those newly admitted.
