This CLE program is a discussion of independent film finance and distribution:  how can one navigate this very competitive and changing landscape in general, and especially for the diverse filmmaker or the filmmaker whose topic is aimed at diverse audiences.  To be followed by a networking reception.   

Moderator and Speakers: 

  • David Morrison, Esq., co-founder and Executive Director of The Indie Film Clinic, a not for profit clinical program that provides transactional representation to independent, documentary and student filmmakers, and a Lecturer in Law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Moderator)
  • Karen Robson, Esq., head of the Los Angeles office of the New York-based law firm of Pryor Cashman LLP whose practice is primarily in film and television finance and production.
  • Erica Anderson, producer, actress, Director of Crowdfunding, and a founding member of Seed&Spark, a crowdfunding and digital distribution platform built specifically for Independent Film.
  • Allie Esslinger, producer and founder of Section II, a film company and a multi-platform network for distributing curated, lesbian-related content.
  • Joyce Wu, Actor/writer/director who recently financed her first feature on Seed & Spark.
