Oliver Cornell Young

Oliver Cornell Young of Buffalo (New York State Supreme Court) has been elected to serve as a member-at-large on the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association.

Young is the principal court attorney for the 8th Judicial District of the New York State Supreme Court. His duties include supervising the district's legal staff, conducting legal research for the judges of the district, serving as a matrimonial referee for uncontested divorce actions brought in Erie County, serving as coordinator of the district's videoconferencing initiative and serving as coordinator of the district's Summer Judicial Internship Program for Law Students.

Young, a former member of the House of Delegates, previously chaired the State Bar's Committee on Law, Youth & Citizenship, of which he remains an active member. He is chair of the Mock Trial Subcommittee and was the lead drafter on the 2008 and 2010 case materials.

Young previously chaired the Bar Association of Erie County's Young Lawyers Committee. He also is an active member of the Minority Bar Association of Western New York and a past chair of its awards committee.

Young received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, and earned his law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. He also earned a master's degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
