Kathleen A. Scott of Norton Rose Fulbright’s New York City office is the new chair of the Business Law Section.
Scott represents large international financial institutions in an array of financial services regulatory, anti-money laundering and privacy matters. She also represents financial institutions with respect to bank regulatory aspects in mergers and acquisitions, establishment of new banking organizations and nonbanking affiliates and other transactions.
A former attorney for the U.S. Department of Treasury, she also served as an assistant counsel for the state Banking Department before going into private practice. She spent time at two other major New York firms prior to joining her current firm.
Scott is a past chair of the Banking Law Committee of the section. She is a graduate of Villanova University and American University’s Washington College of Law.
