Three major types of educational debt relief available to public interest
1) Income-driven repayment plans, such as Income-Based Repayment (IBR) and Pay As You Earn, lower borrowers' monthly loan payments by basing them on income rather than the amount they owe and provide forgiveness after 20 or 25 years.
2) Public Service Loan Forgiveness(PSLF), which allows
forgiveness on Federal Direct Loans after 120 qualifying payments while working
full-time in qualifying public service employment.
