IP Legal Clinic January 14, 2014

We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, the Intellectual Property Law Section, in conjunction with The City of New York and WeWork, will be hosting a Pro Bono Clinic on Intellectual Property Issues for Startups, to be held at The Lounge at WeWork, 173 Lafayette Street, New York, NY 10013. This clinic will explain intellectual property issues and strategies that are important for startups, and will pair the attendees with an attorney for a no-fee 30 minute consultation. We anticipate a large turnout so we encourage you to attend.

The clinic will take place between 6:30 and 9:30 pm, and will be organized as follows:

6:30 to 6:45 -- sign in
6:45 to 7:30 -- presentation on Intellectual Property Issues for Startups
7:30 to 9:30 -- 30 minute consultations

Pre-registration by the attendees is required so that we can properly match the attendees to the attorneys. Once we have paired up the attorneys and attendees, we will provide notice to the attorney so that he or she can run conflicts, if necessary, prior to the clinic. If you would like to volunteer for one or more of the 30 minute time slots, please email Debra Resnick at debra.resnick@fticonsulting.com and/or Paula Estrada de Martin at Paula.EstradadeMartin@wilmerhale.com and specify the following information:

Phone number
Email address
Preferred time slot(s)
Area(s) of expertise
Whether you have worked with startup companies
Whether you are an IP Law Section member.

If you do not have pro bono liability insurance, you may be covered by a policy maintained by the Intellectual Property Law and the Entertainment and Sports Law Sections. Please also indicate if you need such coverage.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
