The Trial Lawyers Section has an active and committed Diversity Committee that reaches out to minority bar associations, law schools and new attorneys; grants several diversity scholarships to the Young Lawyers Section Trial Academy for attorneys who demonstrate a commitment to diversity; and provides opportunities for minorities and women in our profession to be featured as pre-eminent guest speakers giving presentations and advice on professional conduct to law students and newly admitted attorneys. Trial Lawyers intend to continue to advance these developments and add to them over the years.
Diversity Committee Roster
On October 9, 2013 at Pace Law School, co-sponsors NYSBA Trial Lawyers Section and Pace Law School presented an engaging program with Honorable La Tia W. Martin, Bronx County Supreme Court, Honorable Barbara Gunther Zambelli, Westchester County Supreme Court, Susan Brownbill-Bega, ADA Westchester County District Attorney Office, and Noreen DeWire Grimmick, TLS Diversity Committee Chair. If you have a suggestion to bring a program to your school or area and/or would like to assist the Trial Lawyers Section in reaching out through receptions, informational programs and continuing legal education to promote membership and provide support to all trial attorneys and law students through involvement in the New York State Bar Association and the promotion of high professional standards and courtesy, you may contact any member of the TLS Diversity Committee or Patricia Johnson, Section Attorney Liaison, firstname.lastname@example.org to provide information or join the Committee.
